It’s a Process! | Making Dichroic Fused Glass Jewelry

Making dichroic fused glass jewelry is a process with a lot of steps. I start by cutting background glass (usually black) into the shape I want – square, rectangle, etc. Then I select colors of dichroic glass to create the pattern on top of the background. I cut the colored glass into shapes and glue them onto the black glass. Sometimes I will put another layer of clear glass on top of the color glass. Cutting glass requires special tools for scoring and breaking the glass. The pieces of glass are tiny which makes it challenging but the end product is worth it!

I’ll continue on my next post with how I fire my glass.
