Stuff Happens When Making Dichroic Fused Glass Jewelry

DSC02977DSC02993Making dichroic fused glass jewelry is a lot of fun but sometimes things don’t quite come out the way I intended! Glass melts at approximately 1460 degrees. As you can see from my first photo the glass on the right side melted in separate pieces as planned. The glass on the left should have been two pieces but they were a little too close together and fused into one blob. It can also happen if I accidentally jar the kiln and the glass shifts. This little blob ended up in my yard among some of my plants. I call this my fairy garden! It is the resting place for all of my glass blob misfires!
